The Process
Besco Custom Jewelers specializes in custom jewelry. It may be the first fine piece of jewelry that you have commissioned, so we try to make the process as interactive as possible. You work directly with the jewelers who are designing and building your jewelry. A clear timeline and budget are developed for each project. In addition, we e-mail you photo-realistic renderings of the finished piece before we produce it, using this combination of interaction and information we have achieved thousands of successful custom projects.
To begin, we start with a consultation session, either by visiting the office, by appointment or through our website. We collaborate to sketch out your ideas, working from examples in style and stones, while adding technical expertise to render a design of your finished piece. After a rough sketch has been drafted, we are able to give you an estimated cost for your custom masterpiece.
You don’t have to be a diamond or gemstone expert to know that a special gemstone is out there for you, you just need a little help finding it. So we begin the diamond or gemstone search. We work with your budget to find the best stone to match your chosen design and lifestyle. This service is free of charge and has no obligation.
With a picture or sketch and a choice of stones (or no stones), we have enough information to create your design in 3-D. Using CAD, and Computer-Aided Design, we produce realistic renderings for your approval. Changes can easily be made to the design at this point and are yet another opportunity for you to be involved in the process. There are no additional charges for adjustments made to the CAD model at this point.
Once approved, the model is cast in metal, finished, hand-fabricated elements are added, stones are set and patterns engraved. From start to completion most projects last 3-6 weeks.
Custom Policy
A design fee is required to begin the CAD portion of the process. When approved a 50% deposit is required to begin production. Payment in full is required at the time of completion. All design fees and deposits are non-refundable after work has started. Overnight shipping including insurance starts at $65.00 for most custom work and is based on the value of the item. Besco Custom Jewelers guarantees items purchased to be free of defects in materials and craftsmanship for a period of one year from the date of purchase. Stone condition is guaranteed at the point of delivery only.
